British gamers will be queuing up to get their hands on the brand new PlayStation 4 when it arrives on the 29th of November.

Last week, during the Gamescom event, Sony confirmed this as the official release date for the console in Europe and Australia, while customers in North America are actually getting it a little earlier, on November 15th.

There will probably be some fans who are so keen that they order the PS4 via safe shopping online from an American retailer and get it delivered domestically, because games will not be region locked and should work, no matter where the console originates.

The best way to be sure of getting a PS4 on the launch day is to place a pre-order with a reputable British retailer, such as Game.

You may have to pay a deposit to guarantee that you will get a console, but you can get your name on the list, whether you want to get it delivered via safe shopping online or actually go to a high street outlet and pick it up in person.

In terms of the launch line-up of games that will be available to buy for the PS4, there will be at least 15 titles on physical disks and many more available to download digitally from the PSN service.

Cross-platform releases including the new Assassin's Creed game will be available in all their next-gen glory on the PS4, as will exclusives that cannot be found anywhere else, such as Kill Zone: Shadow Fall.

Meanwhile, Microsoft announced this week that every pre-ordered Xbox One delivered in the UK will come with a free copy of FIFA 14 as part of the package, making it a compelling choice for football fans who want a next-gen machine.
