Just Terrible - AVOID AVOID AVOID
The customer service is dreadful, they don't have a clue how to deal with upset customers, I let them know in no uncertain terms that they have upset me, their responce was (in their words) to "teach me a lesson". they did this by ignoring all emails, hanging up on me being rude, arrogant, obnoxious, patronising and being deliberately unhelpful in solving my issue.
So, what is this all about, you may ask?
I bought a Nikon D700 from them in Octomer 09, it went wrong in December 09. I sent it back on the 15th Dec (special next day delivery with insurance). For two months, they denied having recieved the camera, finally, under pressure from the post office, they admitted getting the camera back on the 16th Dec.
It's been with the repairers for over three months now (yes, a £1600 D700 for over a quater of a year) and it's still there.
Why does it take so long, you may ask?
Well, they sell grey imports which are not covered by a Euopean manufacturers warranty, they don't even use European Nikon authorised repairers, they don't even use any European repairers, they actually ship the cameras back to Japan for repair there, that's why there is no yellow Nikon warranty card or English (or any) manual in the box.
On the surface, they are cheap and cheerful, but if you get a problem, then it will be a BIG PROBLEM!
I wish to God, I had stumped up the extra £150 and gone to Jessops.
Be warned - DO NOT USE THEM!!!

Worst customer service ever, I have never been treated so badly, their after sales service is appalling.
Summary:
Nikon D700 £1600 bought on 10 Oct 2009, arrived next day.
The camera became faulty on 10 Dec 2009, sent it back Royal Mail on 15 Dec.
16th Dec Camera not received, waited 10 days, still no camera, put in a claim to RM.
RM investigate and send a P91 form to CB to confirm they had not got the camera.
P91 returned to RM by CB saying they DO have the camera, RM close the case.
I contact CB, to see when I can get my camera back, they say they haven't got the camera.
Case re-opened with RM, CB tell them they don't have the camera.
CB confirm to me numerous times and I pass on the info to RM.
After much discussion with RM, they re-send a P91 to CB to confirm the camera is lost so they can send me the compensation.
CB return the P91 on the 17th Feb saying they DO have the camera, RM close the case.
I contact CB again, after more than two months, they admit to having my camera and it's at the repairers.
After many emails, CB say my camera is still at the repairers (over 12 weeks).
I understandably lost my rag and sent them a 'no holds barred' email telling them what I think of them with choice language (but not threatening or personal).
About an hour later Mr Cotter from CB called.
Mr Cotter talked at me and I listened patiently, he said "I'll let you have your say in a moment when I finish". He finished, but was not interested in a single word I had to say, instead telling me that he'd teach me a lesson by not doing anything to return my camera any sooner, nor giving me a refund or replacement.
I found CB to be rude, patronising and not interested in customers grievances in any way shape or form.
PLEASE, do not deal with this company, if anything goes wrong, you will regret having anything to do with them. Pay the few quid extra and buy from a reputable dealer.
Google 'camerabox complaints' you have been warned!
Oh, and their cameras are grey imports!

DO NOT BUY FROM CAMERABOX YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED,JUST READ ON.
Hi just to let you know of my recent misfortune by buying from camerabox.
in november 2009 i purchased a nikon 35mm f1.8g af-s dx lens and a hoya uv filter + delivery £4.99 with a total cost of £193.97.i bought from them because they were the cheapest and gave a 2 year warranty.
Delivery was fast(very poor flimsy packaging)and the lens and filter were great.
EXCEPT i was given two packages by the courier. As i was in a hurry i only opened one package and was very happy, some time later i opened the other one to find (nearly) the same items again, except the filter was the wrong size thread.
on checking my bank account i found i had been charged twice i then phoned them i was told to post it back and my postage cost would be refunded.but i could not find an address to return it back to.
on contacting them by numerous emails,i eventually got their address to return the un-purchased items.
Again after numerous emails and letters and threats and taking action through my credit card company i have just(09/02/2010) got my monies £193.97 refunded but not my £6.70 postage costs.
Not once have I received an apology of any kind for their cock up.
I guess i will never get my postage cost back and also i assume that the 2 year warranty will
not be worth anything either?
I will admit to being impatient and aggressive in my first emails to them but through no fault of mine i have been ripped off and stressed out by a cowboy company.
And after reading all the other complaints they should not be allowed to continue trading.
Thanks
chris

An awful experience
I ordered Sony HDR-XR520 from camerabox.co.uk . Their price was the cheapest on web but what I received was a camcorder with no serial number on it. Even the box was opened and it looks like it had been used before or stolen from someone. I say that because they removed the sticker of the serial number from the box and asked me to do not try to register my product as it has been done in advance for me !
I did not like the product and returned it right away to them and I have not received the refund yet ! I tried to email them and they ignored my email I tried to contact them using msn and the guy who was online was playing a hide and seek game with. I hardly could get a number from that guy to call and when I tried to call there was a women who answered and she told me that the number I rang is her own private number and not a company number. Then the guy on msn insisted that the number is their number but this time he gave a different number to call . I called and there was an answering machine saying the all of their operators are busy and asked me to leave my order number and name. I did so and got a call from them just after that and they told me that they can not help me and I need to email the return department which I've already done last week. I asked him to give me a phone number for the return department and he told me that they have no phone number. Finally I've decided to wait and see and strongly advice all of you to never try to buy any thing from camerabox.co.uk
