Former Spice Girl turned fashion designer and celebrity icon, Victoria Beckham, has spoken about how much she loves shopping online.

Unsurprisingly, she spends most of her time browsing popular designer fashion site Net-A-Porter, according to an interview she gave to WWD.

Victoria, who is married to famous footballer, David Beckham, said that because of her busy schedule she rarely finds the time to visit actual bricks and mortar outlets. This means that while she is on the go she uses e-commerce sites to get her high end fashion fix.

She said that having four kids meant that most of her free time was taken up being a mum, which makes safe shopping online the easiest option to help her make purchases, while getting on with other things that might normally prohibit retail therapy.

The 38 year old celeb has recently taken her own steps to improve the profile of her fashion brand, entering the world of social networking, with a Facebook page dedicated to her designs and products.

She said that sites like Twitter were also helping her to connect with a wide audience, giving fans an opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at the ranges which she is creating.

Victoria Beckham is clearly becoming quite savvy about the world of social media and online retail, because she has committed to releasing regular nuggets of content to followers, in order to keep them interested and also promote various projects with which she is involved.

It is perhaps interesting that she is approaching people through social networking services rather than directly establishing an independent online presence via a separate website. More and more brands and retailers are attempting to help improve their reach and sales by following a similar path to Victoria Beckham.
