High street chain and fashion house French Connection has announced the arrival of a new YouTube video channel, specially designed to help customers who are seeking safe shopping online to get a better look at the current range of clothes and accessories.

The quirkily named YouTique features videos presented by Louise Roe, who takes viewers through a wide selection of products and, perhaps more usefully, the situations in which wearing a particular item are most appropriate. Louise will even give advice on how to build an outfit around a particular dress or coat, so those who are lacking confidence in their own fashion knowledge can get expert advice.

The YouTique from French Connection is not just a standalone channel and it has been intrinsically linked with the firm's portal for safe shopping online. As such, each video will be embedded with links that will let you jump straight to the official site and then make a purchase or browse items more thoroughly before you commit.

Independent observers have been impressed with French Connection's innovative exploitation of the web's most popular video sharing website, as it allows consumers to get free information that is relevant and useful, while potentially netting sales from its online shop.

French Connection has not only jumped on the YouTube bandwagon, but it has taken cues from the most popular viral ads, by keeping the length of each clip at close to the 60 second mark, which means the impatient viewer will not surf away elsewhere before the video has finished.

Although French Connection has only just released its YouTique service, initial murmurings suggest that most are suitably impressed with the concept and what it offers consumers. It is hoped that the firm will generate increased interest and business as a result.
