Nectar, the rewards card company, has announced the creation of the first online fashion outlet to bear its name and entice UK consumers to pick up the latest clothes and accessories from a wide selection of retail partners.

At first the site will provide over 30 different brands, from Ted Baker to Kurt Geiger, allowing the fashion conscious UK citizens to enjoy safe shopping online, via a company they can trust.

Within two months Nectar has said that it will be upping the number of fashionable retail partners connected to the site by a further 20, bringing the total to 50.

Nectar Fashion spokesperson, James Frost, said that the online store had been created to help card users collect points in even more ways than ever before. He said that with the clothing retailers onboard it would be possible for cardholders to accrue valuable points with a greater percentage of their monthly expenditure.

Nectar said that the typical cardholder will spend about £70 each month on fashion purchases, which means there is a potentially large market for it to exploit.

You will be able to log onto the Nectar Fashion site from the start of next week and until mid July it will be possible to pick up a point doubling bonus, as long as you carry out safe shopping online with selected retailers, among which are Debenhams and All Saints.

To inform UK consumers about the new site, a number of targeted advertising campaigns on social networking and relevant online news sites will be operating in the coming days and weeks.

Fashion is one of the biggest growth areas in e-commerce, with big name retailers seeing their sales leap significantly in the first three months of 2011, despite doom and gloom on the high street.
