High street retailer Debenhams is set to make its e-commerce outlet more engaging and media-rich with a service called Debenhams TV, that will bring exclusive video content to consumers who choose to shop online.

The firm is claiming that its various videos and shows will help customers to overcome any problems they may have while trying to pick out the perfect outfit and offer a presentational style which is easy to absorb and ultimately fun.

Along with offering advice through its safe shopping online portal, the Debenhams TV service will be packed with behind the scenes features and Q&A sessions with the stars of the fashion world. This will include designers, models and other significant figures, so people who are serious about style can get their fix of gossip and entertainment while they shop.

As well as seeing the famous faces of fashion, the Debenhams TV service will feature experts who are ready to give out advice to help people look their best. After launching the channel this week, Debenhams has said that it believes it will have had one and a half million viewers within seven days.

The ability to buy the products on display in the videos just by clicking on them is a very clever feature that has been integrated into the service, taking the hassle out of safe shopping online, as whatever you see you will be able to order using your account.

Debenhams TV is not only set to arrive via its official e-commerce site, as social networking services will also be integrating the content and high street stores will get live streams to keep shoppers up to date wherever they are.

Debenhams' Simon Forster, said that the new video service will be a real boon for customers who need a little guidance when they are shopping on the internet.
