3D Elements Introduced to E-Commerce
10 July 2012 - 14:50
TweetBuying products online is quick and convenient, particularly if you know what you are getting before it is delivered to your door. With something like a book or a DVD it will be easy to buy with confidence, because the content is more important than the size or shape of the media on which it is stored.
However, with other items it can be far more important to get a good look at them well before you have finalised your purchase. While online imagery is all well and good, it can be tough to get an accurate idea of what a product will look like from all angles.
This is why FC Curtain is introducing a new 3D e-commerce service that enables you to get a 360 degree view of various objects before you purchase them via safe shopping online.
As the name of this London company suggests, it largely deals in home improvement and decorating items, including curtains, blinds and cushions.
The company has updated its site so that you can see what a particular curtain fabric or blind type will look like when it is viewed with three-dimensional depth.
You can use the site to create windows that have the same measurements as your windows at home and then add the product of your choice, giving you a much better idea of what the finished item will look like when mounted at home.
Seasoned online shoppers and fans of e-commerce may already be familiar with the idea of presenting 3D models of items on a site, but in the past this has usually been limited to devices like mobile phones. Now it appears that the market is expanding and the online shopping experience is becoming even more interactive than it was before.
